Moving a HD to another computer

I am trying to upgrade by computer and only want to move
my existing HD with XP PRO on it to a new box. I got it
all loaded up and powered on and the Windows won't run
even in Safe Mode. Any ideas?

I really hope that putting a HD into a new box isnt as
much of a hassle as I am beginning to suspect it is.
Shouldnt XP PRO sense the change and identify my new
hardware and set it up automatically???

a list of things to watch out for when you move an entire
installation.
