I have inserted a movie into powerpoint and that works fine. What I am
looking to do is add a slider (like in Media Player) that shows the movie
progressing so I can get an indication of when it is close to finishing.

Brad

view > toolbars > control toolbox (if its not visible)
Click more controls (crossed hammers) and insert a windows media player object
Right click > properties and use custom to navigate to your file.

Did that answer the question / help?

That worked great. now however the avi image is rather small in the media
player screen. Which property will allow me to enlarge the avi image within
the media player. I don't necesssarily want to go full screen.

Try stretch to fit. (Right click on the control, select Properties. Click
Browse, which is represented by three dots. Under playback options, select
stretch to fit.)
I believe you will need to do this before playing the movie. If this is done
after you have playback the movie, adjusting the setting will not work as it
will reset it back automatically.

Alternately, you can go into slide show, then right click on the windows
media player control and select Zoom > 200%.

Yes, this alternate solution helped quite a bit. I'm not the original author
of the question but I recently had to deal with this problem. The Zoom
feature worked just fine. Thanks!!!!!!
