Moviemaker can't find Video Camera

Movie Maker 2 can't find my video camera, a SONY TRV315 via firewire. Camera and cable work fine under MacOS in iMovie. Is there some way to troubleshoot this in WinXP

I just visited papajohn.org, found a link to two other
video capture freeware apps that both come up with
"No Device Found."
