I am very new to moviemaker. I am trying to capture from my camcorder, JVC
SVHS. When I click on capture from a device it tells me the device is busy
then that there was a connection problem. This is probably me doing something
simple incorrectly but could someone pleaaaaaaaaase help!!??

Hello,

You can not capture directly from a SVHS camera because it is analog. You
need a device between the camera and the firewire port of your computer.
This device can be a dedicated converter or a DV camera with pass through
capabilities.

Which ever you use it will not capture the audio. This is because the SVHS
standard is video only. The solution is to connect the audio out socket of
your vhs camera directly to the audio (LINE-IN) of your computer. You then
need to set the audio capture location in Movie Maker to the Line In
option.
