Movie works fine in Windows Media Player - All messed up on DVD.

MY PROJECT:

My Movie has still photos, .MP3's, .WMA's and an MPEG file. I also have a lot of movie footage that I capture from a Sony Digital camera to the Windows Media Audio/Video Format.

I've created a Movie using MM2 and used the "High Quality Video (large) setting which is a variable bit rate setting.

I then pull the file created by MM2 into MyDVD 5.2. I'm burning the project onto a DVD +R/W. The project appears to function fine and the files are put onto DVD (I've tried VCD and experienced the same problem described below).

MY PROBLEM:

When I run the DVD (or VCD) created with MyDVD it first works fine. However, it then mixes up the audio and video so that they are out of sync. Still photos that should be changing every 3 seconds fly through at 1 second or less.

The problem occurs at the exact time that I'm mixing the MPEG and audio track. However, I'm not certain if this is simply a coincidence or if the audio/MPEG is the source of my problem. I've burned quite a few DVD's and CD's now and I'm interested in avoiding the waste.

POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS (haven't tried since I'm hoping someone can assist)

1. Try DVD +R's as the media.
2. Output to a different format (e.g. Video for local playback - 2.1 MBPS fixed bit rate)
3. Check my audio and video bit rates????
4. ???

Thanks, in advance, for any assistance you can provide!

MP3's are generally the source of many problems, as are mpeg video files,
it's best to use WMA and AVI..
Best quality would be obtained by exporting from MM2 as a dv-avi file as
well, you will then not be compressing twice.

A few clarifying questions:

What tools would you recommend I use to convert MP3's and MPEG's? I seem to recall MSFT has a tool for MP3 to WMA.

I use super MP3 convertor, found it on google, cheap. I've not looked for a
mpeg to avi convertor, but a search in google should throw something up.
Also save the movie from the camcorder as a dv-avi file, for which you'll
need to be connected by firewire, not usb.
