movie maker freezing -up !

When I have been working in movie maker for about ten
minutes or so, it freezes-up ! It's driving me crazy
because then I have to re-start the computer. Why ?

Hope someone has a good idea of what is going on, could it be a conflict of
some kind???

Does it totally freeze? Do you have auto save turned on and set for ten
minute intervals?

It freezes up and creates an error whenever I go to look at anything as
'Details' rather than 'Icons'. Very frustrating.

My Windows Movie Maker is also freezing - the only way I can get it back is
through a close down through Task Manager and then restart.

It most often happens in the following situations.
1. Create a Project with over 10 small WMV files - maybe around 10 seconds a
clip.
2. Add an MP3 files as backing track.
3. Crashes now occur randomly when I (a) drag clips around in the order, (b)
play back the movie using the preview screen on the right, (c) shorten clips
in the timeline.

This was happening before I installed WXP SPII and is still happening just
as regularly with the new Service Pack.

It's a shame as in my opinion its a great little free program. But now, I am
saving any project file after every change and crossing fingers that I don't
have to keep restarting the program.
