Move Windows Mail messages from Vista to XP Pro

How do I move messages from my Vista Windows Mail to my XP Pro Outlook
Express, each on a different computer? I have tried network linking and I
keep getting a permissions error. I can link my Vista System from my XP Pro
System but I can't seem to link to the mail folder.

Suggestions?

Thanks....

Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store Folder shows where the
message store is. Copy the folders to My documents in WinXP and drag the
EML files into a folder in an open OE folder list.

I want to go from VISTA Windows Mail to XP Pro Outlook Express. XP seems to
use ".dbx" files while VISTA Windows Mail uses ".eml". I couldn't do what
this reply suggests, or I don't understand how to do it? Sorry. Please try
again. Thanks.

Exactly what couldn't you do?

Did you transfer Local Folders to My Documents?
Did Local Folders include Inbox, Drafts, Outbox, etc.?

Open OE and make sure the Folder List is showing.
Make sure you also have Windows Explorer showing the EML files in the
transferred Inbox.
Select all of the EML files in the transferred Inbox (this is the Inbox
subfolder in the Local Files subfolder in your My Documents).
Drag the selection to OE's Inbox.

I think I didn't understand the first message so I fumbled around and got it
work. I then went back and reread your message. And my fumbling turned out to
be just what you said, so it really was my lack of understanding.

Thanks.. All is Good...
