Move Outlook Identities-to-Outlook '07 profiles: Easy?

Hi all,
Without anyone going to too much trouble over this , can someone point me in
the direction of a tutorial?

I upgraded from an old Win 98 Outlook to Outlook 07. The default 'Identity'
(wife) and her emails have all come into Outlook 07 nicely. Question is: how
to get my own identity and data in as a seperate profile?

It looks to me, as I go through the settings, that my stuff will will just
get pulled in amongst hers in the same 'profile'. There are still 2 PST files
on the PC which looks promising.

Sorry for all the reading!

There are 2 ways to do this;
-create a user of your own to login to Windows
-create a separate mail profile

You can create an additional user in Control Panel-> User Accounts
You can create an additional mail profile in Control Panel-> Mail

For additional information about a new mail profile see;

Hello Robert,
Thanks very much for that. I think the info in the link you gave me might do
the job for me, once I can follow it. I'll try it tonight.

I'd rather not have two Windows profiles/logins set up: all that logging in
and out business.

Thanks again - fingers crossed!

Oh heck, sorry...

I have 2 files: outlook.PST and outlook2.PST. One is mine, the other my
wife's. I'm sure of it.

I've selected them in turn for each profile. But when I launch Outlook using
MY profile I just see all my wife's emails and folders. This happens
regardless of which PST file is the 'Default' for my profile. I'm sure
outlook1.PST is mine.

When I go File > Import... and try to select that PST file (to see if that
will bring my old mail in) Outlook reprimands me that PST file is already in
use. I'd worried that something had happened to my PST file and all my mail
was lost, but when I open the old Outlook Express, there it all is safe and
sound.

Hoping you can advise. John.

Hmmm... that's funny. I went into my 'identity' in the old Outlook Express
and clicked:

File > Export... and exported all my mail. Somehow it all went very nicely
into Outlook 2007, under my profile - after a terrible system crash.

Now I need to find out how to uninstall Outlook Express! Easier said than
done.

You can't really ininstall it. Just don't run it or just remove the mail
account from it.
