Move Icons on desktop

Can someone remind me how to move icons off desktop and place on the task bar
as small squares so they are visible while in programs etc?? I know you can
put them in a bar at right or at the bottom in the taskbar, but I can't
recall how.

suggest you post to a Windows newsgroup. this newsgroup answers questions
