Mouse

I seem to be having problems with my mouse. I am using a Compaq M700 laptop.
I have purchased a new mouse so it's in the system somewhere. I have gone to
the control panel and checked but can't seem to find the problem. Sometimes
it just stops working all together, sometimes I just can't scroll with the
wheel and sometimes it just skips all over the page and windows keep popping
up. If I unplug it and wait a few seconds then replug it it begins to work.
It gets very annoying. Any suggestions?

Hi Rosalie,

Did you disable the Built-in Mouse Pad? Have you installed the Mouse
Drivers for the new Mouse?

Sorry to be so long in getting back. I Don't know how to disable the mouse
pad and the new mouse didn't come with any software. I used it for some time
before it went bad with no problem. However I have a more serious problem
now. The laptop doesn't seem to recognize that I am using the a/c adapter.
I keep getting a critical battery message and then I hear a small POP and it
shuts down after only a few minutes. It's kind of old and I can't really
afford a new one right now but I don't want to spend a lot of money at the
repair shop if it's something as simple as the A/C adaptor is bad. Any
suggestions? Thanks, Rosalie

Hi Rosalie,

Turn off the computer, completely. Plug in the A/C Adapter and leave it
plugged in for 24 hours and see what happens after the computer has been
shutdown for 24 hours.
