Mouse to speedy in DOS Window

Unfortunately I must continue to use of a few DOS programs in a
Windows XP DOS window. The XP windows are 1280x1034 and the DOS
windows are 640x480. When I set the mouse speed in windows, the DOS
mouse speed seems to be about twice as fast as the windows speed and
inversely proportional to the XP window size.

Any ideas how to slow the mouse in DOS windows without affecting the
XP mouse sensitivity? Thanks!

Will a DOS mouse driver work in the Autoexec.nt or config. nt - the
one that I have is old and doesn't override the Windows mouse
driver?
