As the Newsgroup suggests, I currently hold a Windows XP computer. My problem
is getting my mouse to work in a 16 bit MS-DOS program. The keyboard works
fine, but the mouse just doesn't show up when the program starts.

If you are starting it from the cmd.exe Command prompt, or possibly if
you are running it using a shortcut made direct to it, right click on
the shortcut (the one for Command Prompt is the menu item in Start - All
Programs - Accessories) and take Properties. On the Options page check
'Quick Edit'
