how do I program my mouse (2 button serial) to cycle thur pages left button
foward, and the right button back a page?

You can't in PowerPoint. This has to be done with your mouse program, if
those options are available for your particular mouse.

Depending on what you need to do, don't let that Michael guy back you into a
Koerner.

If you want to use the Left mousebutton to advance and Right mousebutton to go
back to previous slide in slide show view:

- Choose Tools, Options from the main menu bar
- On the VIEW tab, remove the checkmark next to "Show menu on right mouse
click"
- Click OK

Next ...

- Choose Slide Show, Set Up Show from the main menu bar
- Click "Presented by a speaker ..." or "Presented by an individual ..." but
not "Browsed at a kiosk ..."

Start your show and it should all work out ok.

Extra bonus point question: What's the difference between a speaker and an
individual? Isn't a speaker an individual who happens to be speaking? Is an
Individual (as in the second option) expected to stand and deliver but not say
anything?

Mysteries, mysteries, mysteries ...
