Mouse problems

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm posting to the correct news group. My mouse keeps
freezing after installing SP2 and so I bought a new one and it is doing the
same thing. I'm working with a Compaq and I reformatted my computer with
the CD's that came with the system, but have have the same prblemsI have
checked for virus and spyware with negative results
If I reboot the mouse starts working. I tried to look for any updated
drivers but I keep being told that the drivers are the most recent available

You probably need to be in the hardware group. But a mouse locking up may
be some type of IRQ conflict or something is keeping the computer busy. You
might run task manage to see if something shows up taking all the cpu time.
You might also start in safe mode to reduce the number of drivers that are
loaded and see if it locks up then.
