When my mouse is plugged into my usb. It randomly freezes. The mouse itself
still works (the red light gets brighter when i move it). just put the ps2
converter onto it and it hasnt disconnected so far. But could someone help me
fix this problem please? Thanks a lot in advance

Try cleaning your the interior of your mouse. Inside the mouse, their are
rollers that will catch lint, dust, etc., over time. Use tweezers to clean
off the rollers. If you are using a roller ball, remove the ball and clean
the rollers. I have never used an optical mouse, so I can not help you with
this type of mouse.

If this is a specific model mouse that requires special drivers (as
opposed to drivers included in XP), then try updating the drivers from
the mouse mftr.'s website. If that doesn't help, there is either a
problem with the mouse's usb connector or the usb connector on your
motherboard. You can test with another usb mouse. If that mouse works
fine, then you know there's nothing wrong with your motherboard
connector. If that mouse acts up - then you know.
