Mouse problem

I run XPsp2. Recently I updated to intellipoint 5.2 for the mouse.
I am left handed and like to use the mouse on the left side of the keyboard.
This reverses the button assignment.

I'm using an intellipoint optical mouse which worked fine before.
Now when I boot my computer the mouse sets up as if it were on the right
side for a right handed user. I have to go into control panel and manually
reset the mouse to work left handed.

How can I get back to what I used to have.

Help is appreciated.

I would like to do that but the sites you recommend don't lead me to that
location and file. I went to the download site (mirror 2) listed and found
that the current version is Intellipoint 5.5.

I'll try that and see if it clears up the problem.

This is really interesting. The Intellipoint 5.5 I downloaded from The MSft
site is really Intellipoint 4.0 and I can't install it as the system tells
me that I have a later version.

How can I do this _ Go back to the earlier version of Intellipoint?
