Use Two Mice, Both Right and Left Handed

I'm a software developer and switching hands & pointing devices often helps
avoid RSI. Variety is good.

I just got a new MS Wireless Optical Mouse with IntelliPoint 5 for my
laptop. It works great, as does my old mouse which is plugged into another
USB slot. I haven't been able to figure out how to set up one for left hand
operation and the other for right. I'd like to have a mouse on each side of
the keyboard, both configured for the "proper" hand.

They show up fine in the Hardware tab of the Mouse Properties. Actually
there's a third. The touchpad is named "Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse
(IntelliPoint)".

I'm happy with my desktop's pointing devices. I have a Microsoft mouse set
up for left hand operation on the left side of the keyboard, a Wacom
PenPartner on the right, and a brand new Logitech Marble Mouse trackball
also to the right and working fine right handed.

If you want an MS mouse left-handed and the Logitech trackball on the right,
here's the secret. First get the mouse working like you want it, then plug
in the trackball. (Win2000 recognized it as a trackball.) DO NOT install
the Logitech software, that just confuses Intellipoint. ;-) I wish I could
adjust the acceleration of the trackball -- it takes a little while to
scroll across 4 monitors. <g>

Thanks.

BTW I'm comfortable with regedit. I wonder if ConfigFlags (0x00000000)
under this key does something.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\HID\Vid_045e&Pid_0009\6&2acff34
0&0&0000

Are you just wanting to use the right button on the left mouse? If so , go
to control panel, mouse properties and set the propper button...........

No, I'd like both mice to be fully functional in their "native" orientation:
- Right mouse, left button, left-click
- Right mouse, right button, right-click
- Left mouse, right button, left-click
- Left mouse, left button, right-click

Thanks.
