Mouse pointer not functioning

I have Microsoft XP operating system and recently the
mouse pointer just stays in the middle of the screen. Is
there a file corrupted? Do I need to reinstall the mouse
driver? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I don't think you have to re-install your mouse software. At least first try
disconncecting and then reconnecting the mouse. I had tha same problem when
I move my computer around and dis-/re-connecting helped...
