Mouse pointer keeps halting

For some reason my mouse pointer has started misbehaving i.e. halting
randomly. Microsoft are obvioulsy aware of this issue as an apparent fix was
released on Windows Update. However, so far I have found this has made no
difference whatsoever. It's not the mouse as it works fine in ME (I use a
KVM switchbox).

Did this start happening a day or so ago? If so even I have the same problem
with no explanations, one of my friends has also had it start a day ago for
no reason...does it happen every few minutes? do an ALT+CTRL+DELETE and keep
an eye on the CPU usage, mine shoots up to 50% when the mouse lock happens.

Seems to behaving at the moment - I uninstalled/reinstalled my mouse
drivers, then went to windows update and installed the fix again. We'll see
whether performance dwindles in the next few days..
