Mouse pointer froze

The mouse pointer suddenly froze in Win Xp Pro. I am using a Microsoft
wireless mouse. I rebooted into Win 2000 Pro and same thing. Mouse Pointer in
the center of the screen, froze. Never had this to happen. Anyone got a
solution?

Check under device manager to see if any hardware devices are not
functioning properly.
 
The battery on the wireless mouse was down. Sorry, people, they shouldn,t let
dumbbutts like me on a computer
