hi can anyone help??? my laptop shut down on me but it booted back up again
ok but now the mouse pad wont work at all, cant get it to move an inch, dont
know whats happened but my laptop is useless without it. Help me please im
disheartened.. Dawn ps its windows xp and laptop is made by gericom

What I'd do is to get into Device Manager (Right-Click My Computer, then
Hardware tab). Find the touchpad (under "Mice & other pointing devices"),
right-click that and pick "Remove" or "Uninstall" (from memory!). Then
reboot. XP should detect the hardware and install the drivers, and 9 times
out of 10 it'll work fine.

Have you tried rebooting?

There are keystroke equivalents for almost all mouse actions. However,
if you can borrow a regular mouse you should be able to plug it in the
laptop and easily perform the actions that Philip suggests.

When I use my laptop at home I prefer a mouse to the touchpad anyway.
