Hi. I'm trying to put a slide together with LOTS of info on it. What I
want to do is have a detail info box (text box or other object) appear
on the same slide as the original objects when I place my mouse over
each object, and disappear when the mouse is moved off of each object.

Is this possible in PP? I haven't been able to find any way of doing this.

TIA

Hi Daniel,

I have a tutorial for "extreme" mouse-overs on my web site
at:
www.powerpointmagician.com
It's under the articles section

There are also several examples under the download section
including one of stupid mouse sticks.

I really appreciate it. Between you and Geetesh, I should be able to
come up with something.

I have a similar question - is it possible to show an image (like a
extension of an Org chart) with a mouse over? My goal is to show a
image with a mouse over WITHOUT adding additional pages to the slid
file. (It's almost like a website feature where you see a menu behin
a menu).

Thanks,
JL

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

The Action Settings for mouse over do not include the option to simply
display text or to make a text box appear and disappear (rollover effect).
Also "Mouse on" and Mouse off" are not valid triggers for animation effects
either. As others have indicated there are a variety of workarounds with
different limitations.

However, if you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions as
to improved rollover/mouse-over capabilities in PowerPoint, don't forget to
send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHYit is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
