I have a program (HyperOs) that requires the use of the
mouse in DOS. The instructions tell me to "click" on
certain items while using Partition Magic. However, the
mouse pointer is mot available in DOS. Is this normal or
should I expect the use of the mouse in DOS?

Thanks,
ermiec

Using a mouse in DOS requires a DOS device driver for the mouse. Since XP
does not contain DOS, installing a DOS device driver would be an exercise in
futility.

In addition, even if you DID install a DOS device driver for the mouse, it
shouldn't work, since a DOS device driver for the mouse requires direct
control over a device, something which XP will not allow.

Perhaps there's a mouse driver for the XP Console somewhere deep inside XP.
If so, I would like to know how to install and access it. Perhaps one of
our experts could give us a "pointer" or two on this matter.
