mouse issue?

Special Access

I just switched from 2000 to XP home, and immediately noticed an issue
with the mouse. I have an optical wheel mouse, and under 2000 when I
had multiple IE windows open, it would scroll whichever window was
under the mouse pointer. With XP, I have to click in the window to
get it to scroll.

No additional drivers/software was installed, but XP was installed on
a clean HDD...

Is this "expected"?

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike :)

Try updating your mouse drivers.

Hope this helps.

I'm using Intellipoint 5.x, thought that was the most recent driver

Thanks for the reply Jan.

Hi Special Access :)

Perhaps XP needs a different driver than 2000. You might also delete the
current driver and then reboot and let XP reinstall the drivers. See if
that helps.

Hope this helps.

weird... deleted the exisitng driver and rebooted. same same.
Uninstalled intellipoint 5.2 and rebooted. same same.
Uninstalled driver put in place after 5.2 uninstalled. Same same
Reinstalled intellipoint 5.2. Same same.

I guess this is the way XP deals with the wheel mouse <smile>
Thanks for the info Jan.
