Mouse goes to system tray and bounces!

I have an IBM / Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet 06/04 and I have reformatted it
with a brand new Windows XP Tablet edition OS after I thought that it would
resolve the problem. I uninstalled the drivers in Device Manager for the
built in TrackPoint mouse and when you plug in a USB mouse, optical laser, it
doesn't matter, I checked with AdAware and Windows Defender for any SpyWare /
MalWare / AdWare / GrayWare, doesn't show anything, did FULL / Detailed scans
for archives too. It looks fine. The mouse icon will "bounce" around in the
system tray and often will double click on Time and "change" it. It is the
most bizzare thing. It is random (supposedly) and doesn't always happen.
You can't FORCEFULLY move the mouse by trying to keep pushing the mouse to
the top left to get it out of there. It is almost like someone is trying to
move it around themselves. It goes around a little, maybe 1" if that, just
outside of the system tray area and then moves a little to the left. It is
like someone is "blind" trying to move the mouse and go to the left or right
or up or down.
Restarted, cold booted, not sure what else to do. Tried different mice, but
can't change the mouse. Tried to updated with Lenovo / IBM's System Update
to update the drivers for the laptop / tablet mouse, but it doesn't seem to
matter.

Any idea? This has happened for about a month maybe less.

Did you install the correct mouse drivers for the USB mouse?

What make of mouse?

The mouse drivers come up automatically. I also tried to install the
Microsfoft Mouse Drivers from the website, 5.5 I think.
IntelliPoint_5_5_Mouse_Software is installed, normally that will fix some of
the problems.

Is there any software I can use to see what is going on or talk with about
this?
Any diagnostics, to see what might be wrong? I know Lenovo / IBM will tell
me it is software realted, and vice versa.
