Mouse Freezing when entering games.

I have a friend with an AMD 2600 256mb ram we just reinstalled windows Xp and updated all the windows drivers. We have also uninstalled and reinstalled the video drivers twice to try and fix this problem. Mouse will work fine unless we open any game and then mouse go's in and out then finally freezes. He has an Intelimouse trackball optical usb mouse. We have also tried to use the ps2 port converter and still the same thing. I have just given him the Via usb controler updates and another usb filiter i found on thier site but wanted to ask here for more I might try.

do u have n e drivers 4 the mouse? if so, install them. or maybe its just the game.

what video card are you using
stick to ps2 connection for the mouse not usb
