mouse freezes

out of the blue my mouse will freeze for 30 seconds or so.
this is something new. i don't know where to beging.
i am running windows 2000 profesional on a gateway
computer, 450 megahertz.
any suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

It is probably associated with another device having problems. If the disk
light is on during the freeze, you have an IDE problem. Did you make any
hardware or networking configuration changes?
