Mouse freeze

I am running Windows XP home on a new laptop with plenty memory and space.
Recently I find the mouse freezes when exiting Internet Explorer and hangs
for up to 20 secs. Sometimes happens with OE as well. I have sourced mouse
freeze via Google but am unable to solve the problem. Can anyone help please

1) Try checking the mouse vendor Web site and downloading a new mouse driver
from there.

2) Mouse freeze could be due to issues with IE or/and OE
Try to check if its a mouse problem: when your mouse is frozen, do ctrl +
esc (using keyboard) and see if start menu opens. If it doesn't, then it is
not a mouse problem.
