My mouse will freeze at start-up or it will only move sideways. I a
using Windows XP Pro and this has happened on my two networke
computers. Have seperated them and have Kill disked and reformatted on
of them with new OS but same results. Any ideas

Hi JPGHOST,

What Anti-virus Software Package are you using? Is your Anti-Virus
Background Scanning running at Boot?

Hi JPGHOST,

Also one more thing for you to try, is to replace the Mouse Pad you are
using. Even if it is an Optical Mouse Pad. And just try it without any mouse
pad, as long as it is on a smooth surface.

And do you notice any background process on your computer, that is
changing your normal type to bold and back again and keeps repeating? Look
at your News Server: type. Why I am asking? My Mouse is also slowing down,
doing something similar to what yours is doing during the boot process and
during use.

I've scanned my drive with AVG anti-vi and it came up with nothing
What I forgot to mention also was that about three weeks ago when thi
started, I opened an E-mail from a friend that had received a
attachment from someone that supposedly was hit by a virus tha
attacked his mouse control. Have you heard about any virus like that?
I've also tried the Error Killer program and it comes up with som
registry errors. It eliminated some and I've tried using msconfig t
check out some other things. Have changed my mouse but no change. No
after all this the pointer is stopping and coming back to normal afte
a minute or so then works then stops again. Any other ideas?

Thank for help

Hi JPGHOST,

By any chance, did you also upgrade your Graphics Card Drivers? I
mention this because the new Graphics Drivers for my ATI All-In-Wonder 2006
AGP, plays an effect on my mouse movement that I had to go back to previous
drivers.

I just restored this operating system with an image and have to go back,
because of the Sound doesn't work correctly with the TV Tuner.

See this 1 minute movie, I posted online.Explained my problem. I used
Logitech Quickcam Orbit MP Camera to record and post.

broadband only 2,900kb.

Is your mouse an Optical Mouse or regular mouse? Did you do a Spyware
Scan also?
