Has anyone seen this? Windows XP Home, the right button of the mouse does
not supply a context menu when clicked on any icon or in the desktop. If the
right button is used in a toolbar, the context menu opens. Have tried
different mice, and have checked the mouse settings in control panel.
Thought maybe it had to do with viruses or adware or spyware...but all of
that has been cleaned and the situation remains the same. Have tried PS/2
mouse, usb mouse, wireless mouse all the same. Is there a setting somewhere
I am unaware of?

The only thing I can think of off-hand is that perhaps there is a
context menu entry that is b0rking things up, particularly since you
indicate there was some malware on the system. Use the free ShellExView
to see what non-MS context menu entries there are. Try disabling them
and see if that helps.
