Mouse cursor frozen

I have Win XP Home Edition on a HP Pavilion at home. When I boot up, the
mouse cursor is froze. I can use keyboard functions to get
around(pain).....Any suggestions on how to resolve? Many Thanks.......
 
try a different mouse as it sounds like the one you have doesn't work
anymore.
