I am having difficulty with my mouse freezing up all the time and I am unable
to do a thing on any page or program that is open and it results in me having
to manually shut down and restart the PC...thus I lose ALL of what I was
doing, etc....
Does anyone know why this happens and if there is a means in which to
fix/stop this?
Thank you...

I also have/had this problem. It started out with my ps/2 mouse locking up
and nothing that I tried freed it up. So I went and bought an USB wireless
mouse. After installing it all was working fine. Problem solved! WRONG!
After using the mouse for about 2 months the problem has returned with a
slight variation, the mouse works for 4-10 secs then doesn't for 30+ secs.

Any and all help appreciated

Try lowering graphics hardware acceleration slide. You can lower
graphics hardware acceleration in Display Properties, Settings tab,
Advanced button, Troubleshooting tab. If this helps, you probably need
a different graphics card or drivers.
