Mouse click problem?

Could someone offer suggestions for this? I have tried searching on
google but seems to mostly get adds or notes on double click settings.

I have this intellmouse explorer from microsoft and the problem is that
quite often it seems to not register when i click the right mouse
button, so i have to click again and again. This is everywhere, on the
desktop, in programs and games.

How I think it works is the mouse has this chip inside. it takes the
movement or click and encodes this into data packets

so if it all works except the right button? its probably the button has been
damaged, or the pc board inside is loose where its hard to make contact

if its wireless? then move the receiver closer, is it wireless?

if not open it and check for a loose or cracked board and fix it. the small
switches are generic and can be replaced easily in many cases

Well the right mouse button works sometimes, like perhaps 9 times out of
10 - and then i have to click again, i don't have to press hard it can
be ever so lightly.

No its cable.

Hm.. it doesn't seem to be openable, - at least not if i wish to close
it again.
