Mouse click powers on PC

We just purchased a new PC. It is Microsoft compatible with a Logitech
deluxe keyboard and optical Wheel mouse. Left clicking on the mouse
while unit is off will Power On the system. Called Company we
purchased it from and all they could tell me was that was weird. I
figured that out myself. Tried changing to Microsoft mouse, still did
it. Hibernation is disabled and all power schemes are set to Never.
Can anyone tell me if they have had this happen and if there is a
setting to change it. Thanks!

You need to access the PC's BIOS screen and check in the 'Power' settings.
Locate the "Power On" options and you might see a "Mouse " setting to turn the
PC on.

My guess is that the system is not really "off." Perhaps it's using one of
those newer power states that are somewhere in between standby and
hibernate? Anyhow, some things to check:

Power Options> Advanced: Check settings for power buttons. Standby and
Hibernate are options here.

If you check the mouse's properties in Device Management, look at the Power
Management tab. Uncheck the box that allows the device to bring the
computer out of standby.

Might try a different mouse too.

Thanks, Yves, for refreshing my memory. Not having the problem with the
mouse - just a problem remembering where I had seen that option before!

Thank You. I found the option in the BIOS , in Power Managment Setup,
under PM Wake Up Events. "PS2MS Wakeup from S3/S4/S5" was set on
click. Changed setting to disabled and that fixed the problem.
Appreciate the help!
