Mouse behavior?

I'm dual booting Windows XP and Vista Ultimate 64.

I'm running MSFT's Intellipoint mouse software on both, the 32 bit
version on XP and the 64 bit version on Vista.

The mouse scroll wheel acts differently in each OS, in XP it does as
expected, in Vista it hesitates, won't scroll until it's been moved a
substantial distance and stops scrolling while the wheel is being
moved.

I've looked at all the settings and changed the scroll settings without
any results. Can someone offer some ideas, please?

Well, that was simple, I took one more look at the mouse setup and I'd
selected the wrong mouse type in Intellipoint. DOH!
