Mouse and Keyboard not working after WinMX install

I've spent the last 4 days trying to load WinMX after a
nasty virus killed my PC. Wanted to stay with Win98 but,
since it's not supported anymore by MS, I took the plunge
and bought the WinMX upgrade. After loading the upgrade,
my mouse and keyboard wouldn't work. Went to a full WinMX
load and had it reformat and do the whole hooy.
Wellll...I've finally conceeded that WinMX holds true to
most MS products and their online support is ca-ca too.
No help for this problem. Can someone tell me how to get
my goofy mouse and keyboard functioning??? I even tried
downloading the MX drivers for all of my equipment prior
to the installation. Still no good. My system was bougth
through Gateway if that makes any difference.

Thank you,

What keyboard and mouse

Most people with your porblem that I have assisted, are using older Logitech product and Logitech doesn't provide Windows XP upgrades

Any other products seem to work fine. Especially generic Asian built products and best of all Microsoft - their keyboards also have excellent 'sensory feedback' quality!

The mouse is a logitech mini optical - Logitech says it's
compatible with 98 *and* XP. Brand new...just got it
about 2 months ago. The keyboard is from Gateway and came
with my system (cough) ...about 6 years ago. I think it's
a Legacy keyboard...or so it says in my startup.

Thanks for your help in advance,
