Motion Paths

I am working with motion paths and with the help of some of the MVP's on this
forum have made major progress. However, I have a situation where I am
tracing stops on a map. I start at point "A" and go to "Z" with stops at B,
C, D, E, F....Etc.
Problem I am running into is between some points there may be 2 or 3 inches
of space. Trying to select the motion path, or stopping point, or a "wipped"
path becomes very difficult. Never sure which one is being selected.
The questions I have are: 1) is there a way to lack an animation so that it
cannot be selected - while others that overlay it can be?, 2) has anybody run
into a similar situation and how did you overcome it?, 3) are the alternative
ways to resolve this situation?

Thanks

There is no way to "lock" animations (which would be a fantastic feature!).
In situations like this I find that zooming in to 400% (or more), makes it
much easier to select the desired motion path. Assuming the animations occur
in order, you can check which one is selected in the animation pane -
unfortunately they will all have the same name (although in PPT 2007 you can
name them independently!).

The other suggestion is to turn off the "snap to grid" option, as it really
messes with placement of the motion path end points (CTRL + G, uncheck snap
to grid).
