Motion path snail trail.

Is there a way that I can get an object for which I have created a complex
motion path to leave a trail.? For instance a ship sailing on the high seas
leaving a trail of its course.

Alternatively/additionally is it possible to convert a motion path into a
real line or vice-versa?

Ideas welcome. I guess it will need VBA?

Layering with simultaneous animations would work without VBA.

Simply reveal the trail under the ship using a wipe while the ship motion
paths across the slide.

Useful thought Bill, but..
The path can be quite complex.and moves up, down. left, right and even back
on itself at times so wipe would be a problem.
Also the motion path took hours to create and I'd have to recreate it as
line for the trail.

Agreed, the trail would need to be done in a series of sections, wiping
appropriately (no silly comments). It might take some time, but that is the
only way I know to get it done the way you stated.
