More like a Windows 2000 Question/Issue

Anyone,

I have Windows 2000 Pro. Everytime after I boot up and log on, after the
windows 2000 pro loading process, windows explorer keeps blinking. The whole
desktop along with icons and background flickers and rolls over and over.
Under tasks, the task showing explorer keeps on going away and reappearing
while above happens. Does anyone know what's causing this and how it could
be fixed? Another issue, whenever clicking on internet explorer or mozilla
firefox to go on the internet, after clicking internet explorer or mozilla
firefox browsers disappear. Does anyone know what's causing this and too,
know how this problem could be fixed?
