Issues with Internet browsers

Would like to know why; even thought I have FireFox set as my default
browser; when I click on a link, Windows Internet Explorer opens? Not
all links do this; but some do. Don't like Internet Explorer and I don't
want to use it. One would think that should be my choice!

And when Internet Explorer does open; why would it always have to make
about 9 entries in my registry? I have my computer set so that when
there is a change to my registry; it notifies me. FireFox doesn't do this!

Hi Theslaz,

See if these tips don't help:

Me thinks my problem stems from the fact that some of these links are
"Hard Coded"! Don't know if there is a way around that.

If the link specifies iexplore.exe, Internet Explorer will start.

Well, you need IE to use Windows Update/Microsoft Update due to ActiveX,
unless you install the IE Tab extension for FF.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419

But be warned, you ARE running IE within FF, so any reason you have not
to use IE will still exist if using IE Tab.

Do you have some URL examples?
