Monitoring Computer Screen

I would like to watch the screen display of another local networked PC as it
is used, to help in a training exercise.

I tried Remote Desktop but this logs out the local PC when the remote one
takes control. Remote assistance seems overkill as, I believe, the
connection is made via the Internet not the local network.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this with Windows XP?

I am using WinVNC for subj. You can get it on www.tightvnc.com
