Monitor will not shut down after 15 minutes

I am running Windows xp home and I have a AMD Athlon 64 processor 3400+ ,
2.40 ghz...1gb ram. This has been working forever and now all of a sudden it
quit working?? .......no troubleshooter in the help file. I did check the
settings and it is set properly.

You should be asking tech support at the monitor manufacturer's.

The 21" Sony monitor I have is about ten years old so it it not listed at
Sony for support. Guess my only option is to hit the off button when I walk
away.

Hmmm..

Did you check to see if it was still supposed to turn off after 1
minutes (right click on desktop, select properties, go to tab Scree
Saver, click the button Power, and see that the monitor is set t
turn off after 15 minutes)? Or you could set a blank screen save
and it would appear to be off. There really is not much of
difference
