Monitor stays on

Formerly when I would leave my computer on, after a while
the monitor would turn off. I would then move my mouse
and the monitor would turn on again. Now it stays on no
matter how long i leave it idle. Cany you tell me how to
rectify this problem?

Check the settings:
control panel(classic view)/power options/turn off monitor.
 
Change setting from control panel|power options|power schemes tab.
