Monitor Sleeping Problem

I am unable to bring my monitor out of the "sleep" mode.
Neither the mouse or keyboard work. I have swapped out
the monitor and graphics card. I have the display
properties set to "always on." When rebooting the system,
the monitor will work just long enough for me to log onto
Windows 2000 and then goes to sleep on its own. Are there
other settings that could cause this all of a sudden? I
have been using this system for 3-4 years with no problems.

Are you certain the machine itself hasn't turned off?
Is the driver corrupt?
Is there a driver setting that could be causing this?
Do the monitor and the card work properly on another machine?
Have you checked all BIOS settings?

The hard drive is still spinning when the monitor goes to
sleep. It appears as though something is running in the
background when this happens.

As far as I know, the driver is in tact since I don't see
a conflict in the device manager and Windows tell me the
device is working properly.

The monitor works fine on my second computer. I have not
tried the card in the other computer but I have tried a
different monitor and card on the problem machine.

I'm not 100% sure on the BIOS settings. Are you
referring to the POWER settings or other BIOS settings?

Is there anything registry related that could be corrupt?
