Monitor Scrolls

I have a dell laptop,inspiron 9100. I recently reinstall XP and ran all the
updates. The problem is when I scroll down the screen it redisplays the whole
screen instead of moving down one line. I am having a problem loading
updates, can't find them, for a video controller and the eathernet
controller.

You visit Dell support site for winxp drivers applicable to your model, and
install all of them, assuming they are available for winxp.
You do NOT use winupdate for drivers, particularly so for a laptop

First of all DO NOT install drivers from Microsoft update, go directly
to the device(s) manufactures website and download them directly from
there.
