I have dome a clean install of XP Pro and now I can't seem to change the
resolution on my monitor!
I click properties and go to change this and there is ONLY 1 setting - 16
bit!
What the hell can I do to fix this?
I am sure I am missing something.

best,

jack

Have you downloaded and installed your latest video drivers?

You may need to install your monitor inf file if it is not
included/recognised by XP.

Is your resolution too high? Does the 32 bit option show if you decrease
your resolution?

Sounds like you have a generic VGA driver installed, Windows XP may have had
trouble determining or finding the proper one.

You need to locate a current (and preferrably WHQL certified) driver for
your card. Find out the card manufacturer and model number, then go to the
manufacturer's web site and download the correct driver.
