hi
apologies if this has been posted before but i cant find it.

ive just installed a new tft monitor, 19" hyundia. i want to use either
1024x768 or 1280x1024 with a refresh rate of 75, but it wont change from 60?
im pulling my hair out lol.

my other problem is, my graphics card isnt working properly, for some reason
its loading as pci instead of agp. but agp is enabled. ive uninstalled the
drivers for it, made sure agp is enabled and rebooted, re-installed drivers,
but still says pci. i only notice the difference when playing online games
and my fps is poo :( it worked previously under agp, but i had to reformat,
and since then ive had the pci problem. hope some wise person can help :)

system spec
windows xp pro
amd athlon 64 3500
geforce 5700 agp x4 x8
nvidia3 motherboard

Use the default refresh rate. None other is needed, nor will they work. The
technology is NOT based upon the CRT, which flickered with the 60hz current,
much as a fluorescent lamp does.

Well leave your hair intact. LCD monitors are not like CRT monitors where a
refresh rate means something. In a CRT the rate at which the progressive
display of lines of phosophor get displayed impact on the flickering one
sees on a CRT. LCD monitors work quite differently. Individual transistors
light up each pixel. LCD monitors can have fixed refresh rates and
shouldn't flicker no matter what they are set at. 60 is quite common for
some TFT LCD screens.
