monitor problems

hey guys. i am totally stumped here, but then again i
dont know alot about fixing these kinda problems. just
recently i left for a week and my parents were using this
computer during. when i came back the monitor was acting
strangely. now wherever there is anything on the screen,
the monitor darkens pixels in a horizontal line all the
way across the screen. it's only darkened as tall as the
object and when you clear the screen the darkening goes
away. help plz!!!

It needs to be taken to a service center. A magic wand won't work.

Hi,

This might be caused due to the slow refresh rate of the monitor or the display drivers are corrupted.

You can try to reinstall the display adapter drivers by doing the following.

open device manager.
right click on display adapter.
delete the name that appears below the display adapter.
you will be prompted to restart the computer.
when the computer restarts you can install the updated drivers for the display adapter from your setup files (that was provided along with the display card).

Look for a button on your monitor to enter its settings menus
Try resetting to factory defaults
