Monitor problem when using Standby

Recently I configured my Win xp home ed. to go into Standby mode when
the pc is idle and when the power button on the tower is used to shut
down the pc.

I'm not sure that there is a connection but when I reopen windows from
the Standby mode the monitor screen has shrunk inward horizontally
approx 3/4 inch on each side. If I fully shutdown the pc the screen
returns to full size upon restarting.

Can someone shed some light on this problem?

Any input would be appreciated,

Frank

Check for newer versions of your display driver. The current driver is not
resetting your display settings correctly when returning from Standby.
