Monitor not coming on

My Pentium 3, 1.8ghz, with xp Home edition, genforce 6800 video card with
128mg ram equipped computer using original crt 17"monitor just doesnt come
on and I get three beeps at startup, I have tried an different AGP video card
and different monitors. I am at a loss,why does this stuff alsways happen at
critical times?My only idea is that it may be the motherboard, any ideas

thanks, I reseated my memory and my video card but no luck, I still get the
monitor self test message chck connection or computer and the three beeps are
still present. any other ideas that might work?

Look up your motherboard's beep codes. Those three beeps are an audible
code letting you know which piece of hardware has failed.
